Message from the President
From Robert Coviello, Incoming President of IALOC

Cari Amici,

It is an incredible honor to serve as the incoming president of the Italian American Lawyers of Orange County (IALOC). As we embark on another year, I am deeply inspired by the rich legacy of our organization and the shared commitment we have to promoting fellowship, professional growth, and the celebration of our Italian heritage within the legal community.

IALOC is more than an association—it’s a family. For decades, we have united attorneys, judges, and legal professionals who share a passion for excellence, justice, and culture. Together, we’ve not only advanced the profession but also fostered meaningful relationships that last a lifetime.

I am thrilled to invite all of you to our Installation and MCLE Event on February 11, 2025, at Antonello Ristorante. This special evening will be a wonderful opportunity to welcome our incoming officers and board members while participating in an engaging MCLE presentation by the esteemed Eric Traut. I encourage everyone to join us for this event, which promises to be both enlightening and a celebration of our shared values and community.

As we look ahead, my focus will be on strengthening our bonds, expanding opportunities for mentorship, and enriching our outreach programs to inspire the next generation of Italian-American legal professionals. Through engaging events like this, continued educational initiatives, and partnerships with community organizations, I am confident we will make 2025 a year of impactful growth.

I encourage each of you to take full advantage of all that IALOC offers. Whether it's through attending our monthly meetings, participating in CLEs, mentoring a younger member, or simply sharing your ideas, your involvement is vital to our success. Together, we can continue to honor our heritage, elevate our profession, and make a lasting impact in our community.

LEX ROMANA


The first ever IALOC meeting took place at Joseph D'Antony’s home at which his mother, Adelaide, prepared and served a grand, homemade Italian meal. Also in attendance was Frank Barbaro, John Di Caro, Hon. James DeCesare, Richard Pacelli, Frank Terreri, Joe DiVencenzo and several others. Over many courses of delectable Italian dishes and many bottles of Italian wine, the IALOC was born. At that meeting, the group chose the name “Lex Romana” meaning “Roman law.” The founding fathers of the IALOC knew they were destined to turn this fledgling idea into a reality so all Italian American lawyers in Orange County and their family and friends could share in their legal gastronomic endeavor.
