IALOC's Cucinado & Vino: A Virtual Cooking Demonstration and Wine Pairing

CUCINADO & VINO

Italians know the cure for getting through tough times like these - Eat Pasta and Drink Wine! Join us for a virtual cooking demonstration and wine pairing with our very own Janice Chieffo and Eric Traut.    


Watch from the comfort of your home as Janice shows us how she makes the timeless classic of Spaghetti ala Pomodoro with fresh garlic and basil.  Dust off your hand crank pasta maker and create your dish with Janice.  The ingredients needed are: 00 flour aka "dopio zero flour", eggs, olive oil, salt, tomatoes, garlic, and basil.


Our resident sommelier Eric Traut will then walk us through three of his favorite wines to pair with this dish. From a low-cost Chianti to a higher-end Brunello, go to your local wine store and pre-purchase (if available) the following wines to enjoy during our meeting: 

  • Fonterutoli, Chianti Classico, 2014
  • Cascina Adelaide, Barolo, 2014
  • Poggio Al Vento, Brunello di Montalcino, 2001

LEX ROMANA


The first ever IALOC meeting took place at Joseph D'Antony’s home at which his mother, Adelaide, prepared and served a grand, homemade Italian meal. Also in attendance was Frank Barbaro, John Di Caro, Hon. James DeCesare, Richard Pacelli, Frank Terreri, Joe DiVencenzo and several others. Over many courses of delectable Italian dishes and many bottles of Italian wine, the IALOC was born. At that meeting, the group chose the name “Lex Romana” meaning “Roman law.” The founding fathers of the IALOC knew they were destined to turn this fledgling idea into a reality so all Italian American lawyers in Orange County and their family and friends could share in their legal gastronomic endeavor.
